Hafner 123 lists a Maria Theresa Taler counterstamped with Hejaz and the tughra (official signature) of Sultan Murad V (1223 AH; 1876AD). This coin was first published by K.M. MacKenzie in Numismatic Circular  85, 1977. According to Hans Wilski, Countermarks on Ottoman Coins, MacKenzie later determined that the taler is a recent restrike, and that the tughra as well as the Hejaz counterstamp is therefore a forgery.
